Healthy Snacks
-
Fruit juice - try
Buddy Fruits
individual fruit pouches or Buddy Fruits &
Vegetables. Stella freezes the Fruit Tubes for a hot day
treat for herself and Daisy!
-
Baby carrots, pretzels, low-fat whole-grain crackers, or
small baked potato with yogurt based dressings
-
Individual cups of applesauce
-
Individual pizzas made with whole-wheat English muffins
topped with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese and a few
veggies on top (sautéed sweet peppers, broccoli, mushrooms)
-
Cereal topped with low-fat yogurt and fresh fruit slices
-
It's much easier to prepare NUTRICIZED snacks when you have
the ingredients on hand. So decide what snacks you want to
include in your diet and make a shopping list.
-
Cut veggies into small sizes and place in small containers
in the frig at a child's eye level.
-
Kids will eat most items when served with dip. You can make
a healthier dip with Greek yogurt.
-
Make it a habit to send healthy snacks to work functions,
school parties, and sports events.
