Blingy Doggy Collar

OMG!  This is Lilly's favorite collar.  But then Daisy saw it and NOW it's Daisy's favorite collar.

But then Daisy saw this ribbon with daisy's (OF COURSE!!!) all over it and NOW she wants a blingy pinky collar with daisies on it.  BTW, I made one for her and it's in my first diary and she looks WTC (WAY TOO CUTE) in it!!!.  Here she is playing with the ribbon I used to put in the collar.

Here's what YOU will need:

• Piece of elastic -  1/2 inch wide (but use what you've got around your house
   

• Ribbon -  about 1/2 inch wide
   

• 2 other different colored ribbons (I buy the spools of ribbon when they are on sale for $1.99 or so) and they don't have to be that wide - maybe even only 1/8 to 1/4th inch wide or less.
   

• 3 different colors of netting - 1/4 yard of each color
  
  I made Daisy's collar in different colors of pinks.
   

Here's How YOU Can Do it:

Find a piece of elastic and cut it so it fits around your doggy's neck, but make sure it's about 1 inch larger, because you will be tying netting around it. 

My mom overlapped the edges of the elastic and sewed them together so they would be stronger than just tying them in a knot. You know, like shoe laces - they ALWAYS come undone.
 

Then take your 1/2 inch wide ribbon and wrap it all around the elastic.  It doesn't have to look perfect, because you'll be tying netting over the ribbon so it doesn't show THAT much.  Sew the starting point and ending point of the ribbon so it's secure in place and won't unwrap.  My mom sews it with the sewing machine (she's better than I am).

Here's what the elastic looks like when it's all wrapped.  And REMEMBER - it doesn't have to be PERFECT!

Then I take netting and cut it so it's 2 inches wide and 12 inches long. I cut a TON - almost 100 so the collar is nice and full.  And I find the middle of the netting strip (which is 6 inches) and I tie each piece of netting around the elastic.
 

I tie the netting strips in a knot 2 times so it's SUPER strong. 
 

Here's what the netting looks like - I chose 3 different colors of pink.  I know - it's kind of hard to see in this picture.
 

• I  trim the pieces of netting after the pieces of netting are tied because it's just easier to tie the netting if it's in 12-inch strips.  You can decide how long you want the collar to be.  I trimmed Daisy's collar to around 6 inches.
   

• Then cut the ribbon in 8 inch length pieces.  And do what you did with the netting.  Find the middle, and double tie it randomly around the collar.
   

• AND THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN IT'S DONE!!!! OMG!!! WTC!!!

BTW - I have the cutest ever pictures of Daisy in my first Diary.  She's in her Blingy Collar that has daisies on it!!!  OMG!!!!
