One For Me...One For You
Sleepover Pillowcase

When you need a present for your very best friend (or friends) here’s something so easy to make.  I gave this to Bowsie and Annie when they helped me clean up Daisy’s oopsy you-know-what!  And then when we have sleepovers we ALL have the same pillowcases.

Here’s what you need:

  • 3/4 yard (27 inches) of favorite material that is 44-45 inches wide

  • 1/4 yard (9 inches) matching material (this will be for the open edge of the pillow)

  • matching thread and sewing machine

  • pins

 Here’s how you make it:

Wash and dry the material.

Iron the material (this makes it easier to sew).

Pin the right side of the smaller or matching piece of material to the right side of the larger piece of your favorite material.

Trim the selvage from the side of the pillow (that's the strip that has colored dots and little holes along the side.  Sew along the edge 3/8th inch.

Press the seam towards the 1/4th yard of material and iron.

Then turn under the contrasting material 4 inches.

Fold the material at the 4 inch mark and iron.

On the wrong side of the material, fold the raw edge under and pin along the seam line.  Iron then remove pins.

Turn the pillowcase to the right side, place on sewing machine. pin in place, and sew close to the edge .  OMG!  Be careful not to sew over the pins.  Be sure to remove them before the needle of the sewing machine hits them!!!!

And now you are DONE!

Now it’s up to you to create your VERY OWN original!!!
