Snausage and Very Veggie Doggy Biscuits

"Okay Daisy, you have to wait until your biscuits cool." Daisy LUVS these biscuits waaaaay too much. You can have ONE Daisy!!!!

Preheat oven to 400oF.

Beat the following ingredients together in a large bowl.

1 cup water
2 medium eggs
1/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
1/4 cup grated carrot and 1/4 cup grated zucchini (or save 1/2 cup veggies from the Farmers Market Very Veggie Soup

Add the following to the egg mixture and mix together with an electric mixer.

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup cornmeal

The mixture should pull away from the sides of the bowl when mixed.

Stir in 2 oz or (1/4 cup) finely chopped sausage like Healthy Choice (saved from the Farmers Market Very Veggie Soup).

Roll out the dough 1/2 inch thick and cut out shapes using a doggy bone shaped cookie cutter.  Place on ungreased cookie or baking sheet and bake 20-25 minutes.

Turn off the oven and let the cookie sheet sit for at least 2 hours in the oven.

Stella DellaVellas Helpful Hints:

You may want to refrigerate to make the dough easier to work with.  And remember, you do not have to make all the biscuits at one time.  Here is what I do.  I divide the dough into 4 balls, and freeze 3 to make the biscuits at another time.  But I write the name of the recipe on the bags with a permanent marker so I know what is in it.

Here is another tip.  I roll out the dough right on the cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. The dough looks like a rectangle when it is rolled out.

I take a knife and make horizontal and vertical lines, about 1/2 inch apart on the dough. So the dough looks like it has tiny rectangles all over it.

Follow the same directions, but after the rectangle cools, it breaks into pieces where you made the lines.  OMG!!! It is so much easier than making a gazillion doggy bone biscuits. And they are tiny training treats for Daisy!!  Refrigerate.
